Okay, i have a dell Dimension 5150 (e510?) with a Pentium 4 HT and 1gb ram.
The case has a massive wind tunnel thing which takes air from the sides of the case, near the front and blows it onto a big CPU heatsink inside it using a (120mm?) fan. The system has a heatsink on the northbridge (right at the exit of the "windtunnel") and leaving the windtunnel it is supposed to cool the cards and northbridge before leaving out the back grille. The PSU also has a downblowing fan.
The CPU heatink is nice and cool and the 120mm fan is spinning but my graphics card (radeon x600 HM with heatsink) and my northbridge get extremely hot (over 75 degrees i think, i cant touch them for 1/2 a second, i cant check the temps as for some reason the dell has no sensors).
I thaught to cool it down i would install a 80mm fan on the rear grille, sucking air out (from the tunnel, over the northbridge and out) but this hasnt helped to cool it much. I installed a PCI and HDD cooler too and its still too hot.
What am i to do?
What is the max operating temp for the northbridge?
Im thinking about adding another 2gb of RAM and a new HDD, will this craeate even more heat? (will more ram = hotter northbridge?)
