Overheating

Hi,

My pc randomly started overheating this afternoon so took it apart cleaned everything back together and now as soon as I turn the pc on the temps go straight up to 98 degrees (temps from bios) and is very sluggish/slow

Any ideas please?

Have checked all connections
Cleared CMOS (in case overclock failed)
Reseated CPU block/pump
Pump is running full speed as you can hear it whining.

Spec
5930k
16gb Corsair ram
MSI 390X
Asus Strix X99 motherboard

If it's not the voltages or clocks being to high, then it can only be the coolers.

Pump shouldn't be "whining"

Could be a blockage in the loop or in one of the blocks. what WC system is it?

It's a Corsair aio

If the temps are going up like that it would suggest a problem with the AIO. check it over and ensure its all working correctly.

Does the pc shut it's self off after a short time being on? The slow running is probably the cpu throttling it's self.

Have you got an air cooler you could try.

ok have it all working now. I removed the AIO again tilted it a few times and now seems ok.

My only problem is that my RAM will only boot with setting "Auto" and not the 3000Mhz (have tried both XMP & Overclocking)

I guess this is a post for the OC section.
