overkill

Hi all

i just want to know if im overkilling my cpu

specs are
Q9550
2 GTX 285 SLI
3GIG 1066

Just that when i run bbc2 it's really slugish on multiplayer and im only running at 1680x1050 with all max out anything i can do to make run better

Try disabling SLI and see if there is a change. Also, what's your in game ping?

Have you tried enabling VSync? I remember I had micro-stuttering issues in that game with my GTX295, enabling VSync (in game) and Triple Buffering (nvidia control panel) along with going in to the nvidia control panel and setting the power mode to prefer maximum performance (nvidia control panel) seemed to fix it. It runs perfectly now.

EDIT:
Also, in your settings.ini file, try changing the dxversion from auto, to 10.

try turning off HBAO, it isw a real performance killer on cards from back then, I found it would change my FPS from steady 60 to 40-50 on my 295's, albeit at much higher res.

but as D brennan said, prefer max performance, and triple buffering should be set in the nvidia control panel.
