Well as in title, im a overclocking noob but have been reading up on it and decided to clock my e6320.

Was using a guide on my gf's laptop. Anyhow had to update my bios (abit ip35p) to get the uguru app in bios. Downloaded the abit flash program as recomended but when getting update it kept disconecting the download so i manualy downloaded it and flashed my bios.

It said bios flash successfull, restart.

Now when i boot up it gets to verifying DMI pool data......... then pops up DISC BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK

I dont have a system disk, yes i have backed up all my important files and sorry for the long winded cry for help but im clueless lol

Thanks in advance

try this

if you can get into the bios again (maybe hit delete on post)
you can try to set default bios settings , should be one of the f keys if you look to the right lower corner, set default bios and retsart, nowt to loose if the thing wont run anyway and doing this wont hurt it , could be the bios update file is/was corrupt

give that a whirl m8

Yeah, sounds like it's looking for your OS install but can't find it. Make sure your disk boot order is set correctly in the BIOS.

Disable floppy drive, set primary hard disk as first boot device, set CDROM as second boot device; turn the other slots off.

Done, still no difference mate

Hmm, there isn't a seperate boot order config menu is there? Like apart from the basic one? Last time I changed my drives around on my old Abit motherboard I set the standard boot order correctly, and it wouldn't boot Windows - confused the hell outta me - then I saw another menu where I set it up again in the same order and it worked.

There are a few menus but my bios keeps freezing up now  uggh!

Edit: will try again tommorow, cheers for your help lads

If you cant get the issue sorted, i believe you can repair windows and it may sort out the issue, although dont quote me on that. :o

Well im an idiot!

I had 2 hdds installed, so i unplugged my 2nd one and it booted stright away, but my keyboard and mouse are not working!

EDIT: Loaded optimized settings in bios, and seems to be working now. Just need to set my boot sequence correctly so i can plug my 2nd hdd back in.

EDIT No2: Sorted! Got a modest overclock, from 1.8 to 2.8 stable. Going to read up a bit more before i attempt to get it over 3ghz.

Awesome, glad you got it sorted.

It should do 3ghz fairly easily. Make sure once you've achieved an overclock you're happy with, you leave it stress testing for 5 hours or so, just to make sure it's stable :)
