Overly Bright Colors?

Hey guys just a quick question which hopefully has an easy solution! Have a new monitor and I am connecting through HDMI instead of VGA, but all my colors seem overly bright and faded?! The easiest way to describe is the usual OcUK forum color scheme is dark blue and light blue, but now it is light blue and lighter blue for me! Also the white text in forum sections is almost blinding and it's hard to tell the difference between white and yellow text. ALSO for links to websites you have previousley visited in Google they are highlighted in a purple tone instead of blue and I can no longer tell the difference between them two now either! I would like to blame the monitor, but I was fart arseing around with color options when I first got it a few days ago in Nvidia control panel and Windows color schemes and think I accidentaly hit "Apply"!

Please help and tell me what color options I should be looking at to change around.

Download the latest ForceWare drivers if you haven't already and go to Display ---> Adjust desktop color settings. Change 'Content type reported to the display' from 'Auto-select' --> 'Desktop Programs'.

What is the monitor model? Was it fine before you were messing around with Nvidia control panel options? I would also try it with a VGA cable and see if you have the same issues. There are a number of things that could be causing it and if you had a better image over HDMI before tweaking some driver settings the best thing to do is to 'clean sweep' the drivers then reinstall.
