Recently ordered an FX5200 to go in an old rig. Its an MSI version of the 3rd from the top, passively called XFX card right here

Its in the old rig I got at xmas (AMD K6, 128MB RAM) in the AGP slot. (yeh its overkill, but it was really cheap)
eventually will be a linux rig

When installing windows the graphics card was getting really hot. I mean REALLY hot, I couldn't hold my finger on the heatsink for more than half a second. And the actual card itself was not much cooler. Surely this card shouldnt be getting this hot???

I get no artifacting or anything....... its weird....

any ideas anyone?

in comparison to the rest of the system it is.....
just bought that as there was very liuttle difference to lower specced cards around the same age as the machine itself. Can always go in another rig.

I was hoping I wouldnt need a fan on one. Hoewver I have spoken to a few people who have one, and it just gets very very hot. But still works fine.
