Overnight PC Dying

It sounds like my poxxy machine is dying over here.

I wake up yesterday to find my PC case fan making more noise than someone kicking a swan and so i had to remove it, it sitll runs pretty nice and cool inside but now my gcard is deciding to sound like a racing car.

It has never done this before the other day and im starting to get wound up with this pc, i cleaned out the dust filters on the fan and that didnt help and it isnt colliding with anything so im just at the conclusion the case fan died because pc gaming does that sort of **** to you.

But the graphics card, got only knows why that thing sounds like it does, im running a 6870 @ clock settings and i get 45 idling and 75 in any game, it uses 100% activity.

Anyone got any suggestions, i cant play with this bloody noise spewing out frmo my machine, i did blow in the card the other day to get the basic dust out and spun it with my finger to check if that was ok, but i dunno it wasnt that noisy yesterdayish

So you removed a noisy case fan and now your graphics card fan has to work harder to keep the GPU cool.

Replace the case fan with a new one, they are cheap

The thing is, the fan is running at the same temps as beforehand with the same amount of fan usage aswell, so i ruled that theory out as the overall temperature if my pc barely made any significant increase.

Like, my case temp gauge read 35 idle temps whilst on youtube and such, 40 at gaming, compared to the 34 idle and 40 at gaming.

So no idea there.

It makes itself more known if i alt tab out of a game, then when i replay it it increases in volume.

To me sounds like your case fan was possibly dying, so you removed it, now the case has no fan so your gpu has to compensate for that. Just do what above poster said and get a new case fan

And the reason it's making the noise in game, your gpu has to work harder to run games than your desktop, when it works harder it gets hotter, so the fan has to work harder to cool it, get the case fan see if it helps

so a fan bearing goes out and suddenly your pc is scrapped?

don't worry dude, just replace the fan.

The thing is though, im not sure if it is the fan because even if i set it at 35% fan speed and it stays like that it still makes the noise :/

It only ever starts to happen in a game, it starts making a very high pitched whirling noise, like the fan is going faster yet regardless of what i clock it, it increases in volume...
