Oversized baggage

It really does depend on the person at the desk.

I can back from France on business on Tuesday, why am I paying the same amount as a guy who brough on his suitcase and must have weighed 20+ stone?

Life just isn't fair.

Wheres the boobies?

If you do risk it, make sure you know exactly what your gonna chuck away at the airport should you be refused.

I was upper class with their increased load and I was still way over :D

We have business class flights with American for our next Vegas trip , the outbound allowance is no issue it's the return after the missus has been shopping :p

The luggage allowance for US/Canada-bound flights on most airlines are usually 2 pieces of 32kg, irrespective of class of service ticketed. In most cases, you don't get any extra weight allowance for flying in First or Business class, on flights to/from US/Canada. (Various airlines are trying to change this generous allowance, but not too much has changed yet)

However, if you're flying on First or Business then the check-in agents are that much more likely to turn a blind eye if you have an extra piece. Also, elite tier of the frequent flyer programs tend to give extra luggage allowance (for example, United Airlines Gold (Premier Exec) will get to check in an extra piece, bringing the total to 96kg total)

Note: Due to H&S at British airports, you are no longer allowed any single piece of luggage that exceeds 32kg unless exceptional prior arrangements are made. Apparently the baggage handlers don't like lifting heavy bags.

I'm not sure about 1lb but if it's anywhere like 2kg over the 32kg per piece limit (i.e. 34kg+) then you are 90% guaranteed to be told to bring that piece down to below 32kg.

Just complain that your more than 1lb less than (find a random fat person boarding the flight) them and therefore it evens the weight out if they complain.

There are certain criteria/allowances for ski/snowboard baggage. 50lb and 62" long (although mine is 63")

Anyway, sure it will be fine.

Don't think that curry last night was such a good idea though... :o

Most of the time they are ok if its that small of a weight surplus..

I tell you what though, I absolutely hate the morons who go to the desks with their obviously overweight bags...They then get angry and spend ages unpacking half their luggage while everyone else in the checkin line has to wait for ages.
