how do :)

while overclocking the last time round i have set my MCH and FSB overclocks to +0.2 - just cuz people have said its worth doing...

but what exactly is this doing? where is the extra voltage going to and as a result is better cooling required at those points? i only ask cuz .2 is quite a lot, if you added that to the vcore you'd fry the cpu...

also, is it both that require a boost or just one of em?

.2 is not that much really, certainly not enough to fry the cpu. Eg cpu = 1.35 stock + 0.2 = 1.55.

High - yes
Fry - unlikely unless you have poor cooling.

The best advice I can give is don't just set it to that because others do, take it slowly and only up the voltages when your pc is becomming unstable due to fsb increases.

yeah but i'm specifically talking about the MCH and FSB OverVoltage settings in the gigabyte bios, they are sepereate to VCore...

people also up these sperate adjusters as well as VCore and i'd like to know why :)

They are chipset related, specifically the NB(memory controller) iirc but the same rule applies.
