Hey all.

Thinking of getting the moto g 16gb and then going on ovivo freedom package. Was hoping i can get peoples thoughts from actual users of the freedom package they offer, whats the adverts like, can u skip em if u always use wifi? Signal quality, any adverts through phonecalls or txts? How has your experience been so far and how long have you been on and is it really free?

Im thinking of this because my previous contract was with talkmobile for 12.50pm and i got 200mins 200txts and 1gb of net, i barely used the net and i didnt get that near the 200mins or 200 txts so should be good that way with ovivo freedom package of 200mins 300txts and 512mb of net.

Cheers.

Or shall i just go with tesco mobiles free moto g 16gb and 250mins 3000txts or somit and 512mb data for 12.50 pm which works out 130 for phone and 180/7.50pm over 2 years for the calls or so.

I dunno what to do tbh, the free ovivo thing is very tempting but seems too good to be true tbh.

You only get adverts in you use their 3g service

I've heard the adverts last 5 seconds then you need to press the OK button to get rid of it.

I'm not a ovivo user but it's what's I've read. I've ordered one though :)

I've had it for a few months now and unless I start using a lot more allowance, I can see myself being on it for a long time.

As said, adverts are only on 3G. And I'm not sure about others, but I don't have to wait through the advert; I simply press the back button when it starts to load.

Phone signal is fine for me. Not as good as 3, but still pretty decent. It runs on the Vodaphone network so you can check your area for coverage before you get it.

3G signal is ok. Not great but I don't use it much (Google search here and there/Facebook).

My brother however has had a different experience. 3G doesn't work a lot of the time (I think this may be down to the fact that his phone, which isn't jailbroken, doesn't allow him to delete the APNs so he has about 10 different APN settings), and the phone signal isn't great/non-existent sometimes. Managed to get a free t-mobile contract, so he's changing to that.

For the 'price' of £15 (which you get back as credit), you might as well try it yourself for a couple of months because even if it isn't great for you, not really any money lost.

I've been using them since May, not spent a penny since paying for the sim/credit. Not had any issues, I get good signal and speed.

You can use Facebook/Twitter/any app that uses internet without any adverts, but if you use the browser it will bring up a 'landing page' which has a counter, soon as it hits zero tap continue and then its ad free browsing from there. Only does it once per session, not every page you visit. Trust me, its not very intrusive at all.

Unless they go bust or drastically change something I cant see me changing to anyone... unless its a better free one :)

Adverts aren't only on 3g its even better than that, they're only on the browser.

So if you use sat nav, Facebook or any other app that requires data you do not see adverts, the only time you see adverts is if you fire the browser up.

I use it on a spare phone, which i use to track hiking and cant fault it.
They use vodafone which seem to get a signal most places but isn't particularly fast, but then again unlikely you need very fast with such a small limit. So depends what vodafone is like around you.

My partner uses them and no complaints so far, just hope they stay in business offering the freedom package for years to come. As said above give them a try and see how it go's.

Ads are only served on detection of a HTTP stream which is nice and you can just bin em quick. I don't have technical problems when I use my SIM and use it a couple of times a month. Speed isn't fancy but works - it's an MVMO with likely a low tier service contract to Voda so well within expectations for something so cheap.

I'd highly recommend it to lower tier users (as in, usage) but if you rely on your phone a lot then I'd go for the big 5. For you it's going to be perfect. Tech support I havn't tried, it's just worked for me but you can always come here to get that fixed anyway.

I have been using them for the past 9 months, can`t fault them, got 2 other sims for my parents and just ordered a data sim for a nephew
As said not the fastest(i can only get a 2g signal at home)but when out and about get upto 5 meg in places
oh it is £20 for the sim and you get back £15 in credit
myself have not used any credit so far as am a lite user

Been using them for 4 weeks now. I have a Nokia Lumia 520. Not a big data user but it seems fine. Had a few ads, but mainly just use data for email / FB.

The odd call drops but I don't make many of them either! For £0 a month, obviously its a no brainer for low users.
