Oxbridge query/advice

as for the you wont be going out etc etc comments above

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH

work hard play harder:D

you just end up living on <5hrs sleep for 8weeks, go home and sleep for 6weeks then do it all over again:p

There is plenty of time to do what ever you want. Excluding what the twon has to offer, you get May-week (in june) where all night, unlimited food, unlimited alcohol may balls take place, endless garden parties withe free pimms, society dinners, formal halls, the union's events and speakers, sporting events more dinners... you get the idea

Oh and if you want some advice form both oxford and cambridge students, LEARN TO LIKE WINE! you will be drinking a lot of it.

The one remianing compsci in my year in my college can 'straw-pedo' a bottle of win in sub 7seconds:eek: but you dont have to live up to that, garentee as a fresher you will finish one in sub 5 mins tho

I was too lazy to type Microsoft k?

So you couldn't just write MS? Writing M$ makes you sound ridiculous.

So you couldn't just write MS? Writing M$ makes you sound ridiculous.

I always write M$ for the simple fact that I'm not the largest fan of MANY things Microsoft do, infact I think the only good MS stuff done for the development side have been VS and C#

Just because I refer to the company as M$ due to their relatively poor and over-priced operating system, crappy browser, and lack of standards does not mean I cannot appreciate some of the good things they've done. Equally, me stating that IBM fund Oxford, and MS Cambridge was jsut that, a statement, it was not meant to be used as a reason for why one is better than the other - I was simply letting people who might not know.
I'd already explained earlier why the Oxford course was better overall, due to it being more theoretical concerned with how things should be done properly (UML, Z [dunno why I typed Zed last time, think I was tired], and so on).
