oyster card question

hi i have a oyster card question and I've searched the site but cant find the info i need

anyway

i had a student oyster card but its expired and is now a regular oyster card
if i buy a 1 day travel card on my oyster will it work for me at peak times as well or do peak/off-peak still apply

Peak and off peak still applies I believe.

If its a regular oyster card then yes it should work during peak, it'll just charge you for a peak card.

say if you go from zone 4 at 8.30am and back again at 5pm, the ticket is about £8 or something. it all depends when you buy the card, if you specify a peak time ticket at the machine then its fine, it wont let you buy a non peak at a machine and travel in peak though. I assume you're using pre-pay though, if so then just stick £10 on it and check in / out at whatever station you're going through, it'll calculate the rest.
