I just upgraded to these but cant get them near their real speed. They are sitting at 850mhz at the moment which is fine but when they went to 1020mhz then it blue screened after a while.

Anyone with some experience with getting these running correctly?

I think the CPU Clock is 425x9 or 8

And the multipler was 2.30 i think.

Thanks

You might have a faulty stick, download mem-test to double check.

I have got to ask this question, I apologise if I insult your intelligence :)
When looking at the cpu-z are you doubling the figure been shown, ie your 850mhz is 1700mhz and 1020mhz is 2040mhz. :p

No i was looking at the bios speed. I will try mem test.

What do I put in the memtest box?

I have two sticks of 2 gig?

Nothing :D just download, put on disc and then boot from the disc, memtest will load and start it's self. Test each stick individually takes about 15 mins per stick :)

Oh I must have downloaded the wrong thing then. Its only a free version but you but the mbs in the box and run from desktop.

Got a link to the one you mean?

One question, I had my last ram running at 800 like these, do you think i might have to clear cmos as it might still think i have the last ram in?

Well i ran it and no errors came up. What if I reset all options in bios to default?

Good idea mate :), then double check the timings and memory voltage just in case they need adjusting, you will probably need to adjust the speed I have needed to do that on all my systems which use the higher speed ram.

Good luck :)

OK reset the settings.

DRAM Frequency: 533mhz
FSB RAM: 1.2
5,5,5,15

Command Rate: 2T

Is that right?

What voltage are you putting through them?, normally require about 2.1 vdimm to run rated speed.

yes set it to the volts on the stick, then if stable dropp the volts 1 step and keep trying till you get the lowest stabel volts
