OZONE 3D SOFT SHADOWS BENCH

There really not even good at that unless its written for amd .

All the other benchmark programs that ive seen show amd at the bottom of the list.

Thats ok , i guess we can give the amd guys a little light now :P

Bench definitely has some ATI optimization in it, mind you that's all they seem to be good at these days, benchmarks.:p

OFF TOPIC/

I really want to beat you like a bad stepchild at times :p.

Apart from Timeshift and Unreal Tournament 3. Just about everything other title runs just as fast/smooth or a bit faster on the 2900Pro overclocked than the 8800GTX without AA. With AA then the GTX takes off. Remember, you've not used the 2900 for a while now and I had mine in for about 2 weeks finishing last Monday. I was surprised to see CoD4 smoother without AA on the 2900 compared to the GTX with the 8.3 drivers. There is times when it slows down more than the GTX would with no AA but 80% of the time it's a little smoother.

Running games at 1920x1440 or higher really sharpens up the screen so lessens the need for AA. It's still noticeable when playing but not as bad. If I'm really enjoying my gaming and feeling immersed I no longer search for jaggies and focus on slaughtering my enemy, scoring a goal or overtaking the driver in front of me. So in that regard, the 2900/3850/3870 cards aren't really bad. Not everyone is bothered about AA, in fact I've seen a few people mention that they have a 8800GTX and don't use AA. So in that regard then ATI/AMD still produce great cards.

8800GTX gives me AA performance over the 2900Pro but without AA they are neck and neck with some going to the GTX and some going to the 2900.

ON TOPIC/

I might plug in the 2900 and give this test a run 2moro and see if the 512bit bus holds anything over a similarly clocked 3870XT. I run at 850Mhz core with 1000Mhz memory.
