Hey, I just picked up a TP Link Nano TL-WR702N wireless router, for use in hotel suites etc. to give my iPhone/iPad wireless.

It seems to work fine, but naturally I want to change the nasty default SSID and password to something memorable.

I am given the IP address 192.168.0.254 to type in, but it does not seem to achieve anything on either my Macbook or Windows laptop. No box for user/password appears.

Any ideas? Cheers

Hey, how do I do that? I have both Windows and OSX available.. Whichever's easiest!

I should mention, we have a Linksys WAG320N in the hallway, which runs via underground ethernet to a Netgear router in my room.

I've tried connecting my TP Link Nano into both the Linksys and Netgear routers, neither of which has worked so far..

Try Googling 'windows 7 static ip' for the necessary steps.

Set the IP to 192.168.0.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, the gateway can be left blank (as can the DNS).

You should then be able to access the Nano. Change its management IP to fit in with the rest of your network. You can find the current subnet using IPCONFIG /ALL at the command prompt (before setting the static IP).

Once the management IP is changed reboot the Nano. Then undo the changes you made to set the static IP. You should then be able to access the Nano on the newly assigned IP address.
