How long did you drive around with P plates before deciding to remove them? Or did you just not bother with them?

I've been driving now for just over a month with them and after the wind blew my rear one off this morning, I'm tempted to remove the front one now.

They have been useful on some occasions. If I stalled at some lights I wouldn't get the driver behind honking his horn away, so thats greatly appreciated. I'd put my hand up, look in the rear mirror and they would acknowledge my little error.

Other times though I feel they've alomost got me into trouble. On 3 occasions on roundabouts I've had instances where vehicles have decided it would be a great idea to pull out on me. One was a bus, the other a huge lorry and a Merc that thought it was a good idea to go with me a few feet away! On all ocasions I was in the correct lane and signaled correctly. I can only assume they saw me coming round with the P Plates on and thought "Nevermind, a new, inexperienced driver. I'll just go now".

I've also noticed this morning since the rear one came off how close drivers are getting up my rear in traffic. With the P Plates visable they kept a decent distance!

Don't get me wrong, they look daft on a bright, freshly T-Cut Corsa. But they have been useful on some occasions.

I'm a lot more confident now so will probably take then off.

I did stall a quite a few times during the first 2 weeks. Combination of getting used to the clutch from the car I was learning in to my car car and me and my dad adjusting the clutch travel distance when we gave the car a service.

P Plates are off now anyway :p
