my m8 is putting together his first system and has gone and bought the above case and psu now within the hour of him starting to build it he phoned me up asking what was wrong basically it would fit properly and upon doing some research i found out that its not compatible is this true or can it be done

Why is it not fitting? Is it the p4 power cable? If so, this is a problem for most psu's, and the simple solution is to gert a p4 extension cable.

No P180 for me then :/

Good thing I was thinking about getting the Gigabyte Aurora then anyway.

Unlucky for those that have bought this case already - I feel for you (I've made duff purchases in the past).

No chance of a return -restocking fee ?

I don't think it's as bad as you make out and I certainly wouldn't say it was a 'duff purchase'. The case just arrived and it's really nice looking and the build quality seems really good too. Unfortunately the Hiper PSU hasn't arrived yet so I can comment on whether the cable reach's or not. I have read reviews that say antec PSU's reach the motherboard fine (You assume they it would), so I would adivise that if you are going to get this case you consider getting an antec PSU.

I have a P180B and a modular Hyper 580W. All you need is a:

Silverstone SST-PP01 ATX PSU Cable Extension Adaptor Kit

Just Google it, you can find them really easily. It makes it much more feasable to have a tidy case. (and the kit is cheap!)

Hope this helps :)

It depends on what motherboard your running whether you will need an extension or not.

I run the P180 and Type-r psu..

DFI SLI-DR Expert doesnt need one.
ECS KN7 doesnt needs one.

Ok, the PSU arrived and straight away I could see that the ATX connector was going to be plenty long enough to reach the motherboard. I am pretty sure it would reach any motherboard socket - its that long! The one cable that wouldn't reach however was the ATX 12v power connector which my motherboard manual claims, unless it's connected the machine won't start. However this PSU has a 24 pin connector, which my other one didn't and with this plugged in and the 12v one not reaching, the machine still turned on fine. I don't know if you can get extensions for the ATX_12v power connector or if I even need it any more. I am going to trial it for a bit as it is and if I have stability issues may try and get an extension. My motherboard is a Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI.

I really like the Type R and P180 and my PC is now much quieter than it was. The only thing I can here now is the graphics card. One thing worth noting is that using this PSU I had to move the bottom middle fan to the front middle position as there wasn't enough room once the cables were conected. This however allowed me to run cables straight through to the hard drives in the bottom chamber which was a bonus. Here are some Pics taken with my newly aquired Sony Ericsson K800i phone

In the below image you can clearly see that the power connect will be long enough to reach any motherboard.

This one shows why I had to move the bottom middle fan to a different position.
