Hey all,

What are the differences between the Antec P180 and the P182?

Also - If I buy the P180 here, is it the revised version without the VGA duct?

Thanks,

Marky

This might help (overly glowing and clearly written by somebody who has never had to live with the blinking thing):

In short - not a lot:

* Cable tidies, and space under the mobo to route cables.
* holes to support for external watercooling
* black

It doesn't look like they fixed the door or panel problems. It still looks heavy and a tinkerers nightmare!

Thanks guys :)
The thing that's most impressive for me is that I heard it on a video review (The sound of it when it was on) and it was so quiet! Are there any other cases you'd recommend that are very quiet, or have the thermal capabilities as this case?

Lian-Li PC-S80

Taken from a review of the Lian-Li PC-S80
Conclusion:

I like it! Go buy it! 'NUFF SAID! But, seriously, this is one of the nicest cases I have come across to date. This is a solid case with a lot of hidden and exciting features to it.

The HDD heat sinks and the optical drive bay door that is spring loaded are features found on HTPC cases.

The muffler on the back and foam padding throughout the case help reduce the sound transmissions. There is even foam around the door on the case. That is mostly aftermarket stuff, but it's all included in the Lian Li PC-S80B, which, by the time you read this, will be available at *******-***.com.

Even if you are not in the market for a server but want to go silent, the PC-S80 is still your ticket. The overall construction is rock solid, and the installation of components is straight forward. You would expect nothing less from Lian Li. They certainly went all-out on this case, keeping the airflow good while keeping the noise down.

One other thing I almost forgot to mention is that all the edges have been rounded over or covered, so no issues with getting all cut when installing hardware. This is another fine product from Lian Li, proving once again that their name is synonymous with quality and performance that will last for a long time.

Ordered a P180 from OcUK before the P182 came out (a week ago). Was reading about this and it appears my P180 has the features of the P182. i.e. There were numerous cable ties under the motherboard tray as well as two holes for external water cooling. Anybody know anything else about this? ;)

Mine is the same, ordered a P180 which appears to have the added extras of the P182. Maybe they are just wholesale changes that Antec thought they should apply to the range.

I heard there was a mixup and when you brought the P180, you got the P182 :p I don't want to risk it though :p

Antec P150 -not sold at overclockers anymore which is odd for such a beautifully constructed case.

Review here

The PSU is pretty good too -have since swapped it for a Corsair HX 620 though which is just as quiet, if not quieter.
When I first got this case up & running with my Opteron 146/Scythe Ninja system last year I could hardly tell if it was switched on or not. It only became slightly audible after I added a couple of Zalman 92mm front fans.
