Hey all,

Considering a move in case for my PC, and I'm considering a P182.

So if you have a P182 or have a nice picture of one, post it here :)

Thanks,

Marky

Soz to barge in on this p182 thread but i felt this urge to point out this case.
Don't do it lol :p go for one of these i implore you just look at it this is a perfect case to me.
Antec p182 is also nice just not as nice i'd trade my eclipse+cash for the lian li any day.

I so wanted one of those A16s but got a bargain V1000 instead. I have added perforated bays to give the same effect though! And it has to be silver!

I wake up expecting to find my new P182 pictures thread filled to the brim with glorious pictures of the P182... instead I have people discussing the beauty of OTHER cases! :O You should all be ashamed of yourselves :p Nevertheless, I appreciate your suggestions :)

So anyway, back to the point.

The P182 is an awesome case. I actually have the P180 but the differences on the P182 are only improvements. It's a really large case which is nice. There's plenty of room in there for large graphics cards, motherboards and possibly a small dog.
The drive bay "cage" brackets are a bit of a pain at first (well i thought) but are brilliant for fast removal of your optical drives, should you be into any kind of synchronised bay swapping activities in your spare time. I even managed to put my HDD up in the drive bays with this little brackets, it was a bit fiddly but i got there in the end. Now, it makes no sound at all. Which is nice.

Which brings me neatly onto the HDD cages. There are loads. It's by no means a stacker but it has plenty of space for HDDs. 7 in total i think (im at work so i cant count from here :P). If you dont want to use the cages you can take them out. This is awesome too cause you literally just take the thumbscrew out and pull, it has it's own draw sliding mechanism and everything. If like me you put your harddrive up in the optical bay then you can remove both hdd cages, which gives you awesome potential for cooling and airflow. I put a Yate Loon in the center and left the bottom one empty. If you get a thin fan you can put this in aswell as the HDD cages.

I dont have any pics tbh and my camera is packed for holiday tonight (Wooohooooo!) but I am very happy with the P180, and again, the P182 is just better. It's brilliant quality, lots of space and easy to use.

And it's just so much more attractive than that Lian Li.

which case looks best is down to personal preference, personally im not a 180/182 fan.

What are the reasons behind moving cases ? is it because your bored of your old one or are you looking to install more components and want a bigger case?

If there is no reason for the move, its more a case of what you think is a good looking case

Can you route the 4pin connector round the back of the board as i see you have done that with the 24pin? very nice though.

My four pin reaches (sorry no pics ATM). Difference is that my PSU is mounted the other way up (stickers facing up), so the 4 and 24 pin are closer to the back of the chassis.

With the PSU the way it is I would need an extender cable.

Not sure though if I changed the PSU the other way up (the fan seems to be extremely close to the bottom, hence it being upside down).

Heres a few (poor) ones.

Mines routed through the back fine, increadily hard to fit on that gigabyte board though (the tuniq 120 covers the port).
My PSU is the other way round to others in p182's , but its working perfectly as theres still air space at the bottom of the psu housing.
(look here ).

Dave i think your tuniq fan is blowing inside the case and not at the back unless you have taken the fan off the bracket and put a new one in the right way.

Yeh, its not screwed in either ;) Oh and the fan controllers in the water cooling slots :D
I messed up installing the fan at the start, lived with it for a while but only just turned it round, dropped temps ~3c, but seems to make the system noisier.

I must have missed that bloody great hole when i fitted the PSU
Yeh, a lot of people advise fitting it the other way round anyway.
