i have a p182 which despite the reviews have always been a bit underwhelmed by. the main reasons being the apparent lack of airflow, so-so sound deadening and difficultly getting a tidy build with the cables.

so... in the forums opinion are my issues with the 182 likely to be solved by the change, or would i be underwhelmed with the r2 coming from a p182 and £80 poorer.

any other case recommendations are welcome but please keep in mind that noise is high on the list of priorities, and i dont intend to cram real enthusiast parts (like a 5870 etc) into this build.

thanks

r2 is the same case made way more ugly. don't you dare.

Also, the P182 is a great case for cable management, do you have any pics?

thanks for the responses.

some case tidying in order today then i think.

i dont currently have pics, anyway exposing you good people to horror or wires that is my current rig will not be fair.

i will have a look for some tidying tips.

Yeah - wires all over will kill airflow. Look at tidying the case first, you may be surprised at the temps afterwards.

The R2 is the P182, just without the nicely matching sides, dampening, and cool HDD slots.

The only worthwhile upgrade path from an antec p182 is to be looking at cases £100+.

Could try a kama bay for the p182 use rubber fan mounts everywhere and consider quieter fans or even a noise dampening kit for side panels.
The exhaust fans can all be quiet 800rpm fans.
I am sure you could easily make it better for a little cost.
