Hi all if you get a chance to look over this spec list please feel free to leave your comments.

Currently I have a P182 case running Windows Vista 32bit an AMD 64 and 8600GT but to be honest not very impressed so it's time to change back to Intel this is the spec I am thinking of, mainly for Autocad not 3D, gaming mostly WoW and RPG games, dvd encoding, lots of downloading and picture editing.
This will be my first build in a long time, I definitely intend to overclock when I build up some courage wanted to get the OcUK Abit IP35 overclocked bundle but it is out of stock, might still get the guide to overclocking the board though.

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775) £29.99 (£35.24)
OcUK GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - OEM £192.99 (£226.76)
Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £109.99 (£129.24)
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail £144.99 (£170.36)
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA1065) £46.99 (£55.21)
Sub Total : £524.95 Total : £627.33

Thanks,
Martin

edit - forgot to mention Corsair HX 620W psu, HD's are mediocre but sufficient.

unless you want an FSB higher then 400, which using the highest multiplier will give you 3.6GHz, you do not need pc2 8500 RAM, pc2-6400 will be sufficient.

what psu do you have in the case ?

depending on you're monitor size might be worth checking out the 8800GT/GTS.

no point in the 8500 memory either, decent 6400 will let you clock the q6600.

if you're thinking of overclocking maybe check out the wolfdale 8200.

I will be upgrading my monitor shortly quite like the look of the OcUK 24" nice price and stats but for now it's a 19" Dell.
Will check the info for the Wolfdale 8200, I seem to remember reading the 8400 is better for clocking though.
Budgets not really an issue so don't take the total above as a target it's just what it all came to can go higher or lower.

Thanks for the replies,
Martin

Don't forget Vista..I recommend Vista 64...the one you have atm will be tied to the motherboard unless it's retail and if you go 64 then 4gb memory too.
