P183 -193

Are they actually any different from the P182, except for the grills on front and getting rid of that rubbish fan cover at the top?

Hey all, Dan from Antec here. To answer your question about our new P183, the differences are: - lower chamber 120mm fan has been moved to the front of the chassis, to help pull in cool air into the chassis and also to stop it getting in the way of PSU wiring, this was really only an issue with the larger PSU's. Other differences in the case are, we have opened up the grills in the front and opened up some chevrons in the door, this is to allow for better air intake, it also looks cool, IMHO. As Guardsmon has already pointed out, we have also got rid of the "spoiler" that used to sit on top of the P180/P182.

Also, as this case is compatible with our new CP-850W Continuous Power Supply, as are the new P193 and the Twelve-Hundred , we needed to allow more room for that, since it is new CPX form factor, which is larger than normal ATX. This new design allows us to spread the components out better internally, increase airflow, with the first on the market 120mm straight through PWM fan, also it is less expensive due to the design (850w for price of 650w), Basically, if you are lucky enough to own the Twelve-Hundred, P183 or P193, then you have the capability to use one of the best PSU's available (if not the best). Because of its design, it runs the coolest & quietest out of any PSU on the market and delivers 850w of continuous, rock solid power. You can find more details about this brand new technology, and see a review here: - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=142

Lack of spoiler is better but that front door now looks too much like Aerocool/NZXT/Thermaltake etc. bling-blings.

You sure that use of half dozen different brand caps instead of Nippon-Chemicons doesn't have anything to do with that?
(well, at least no Fuhjyyus)

anything to add about the p193?

hope the 193 is psu-less and bit cheaper. my 190 i luve but firstr thhing i did was flogg the psu's the side fan which by the looks of the pics is now out side the case.

The new P193 has just arrived at Antec so you should see it at OCUK in the next week or so. It is slightly more expensive than the Twelve Hundred and it does not include any PSU, so you can make that choice. Also, it is compatible with the new CP-850w continuous power supply.

FYI, the P193 is extended ATX and can take pretty much anything you can throw at it, lots of full length graphics cards, lots of HDD's. It also has tons of cooling with it as standard, it includes 2 x 120mm fans, 2 x 140mm fans and 1 x 200mm BIG BOY fan, with options to add 2 more 120mm fans if necessary. It is also designed to be very quiet.

Not sure where you got that info from but that's not the case . It is less expensive because of the design layout, we have not cut corners on the components at all. In fact, if you check out our reviews for this product, it out performes just about anything else on the market and for less money than normal, as long as you use the Twelve-Hundred, P183 or P193 then really this PSU should be your best option, both in terms of performance and the cost benefit.

someone did a video of the case, with fans at 100% 50% 0%
Then if there were way for somehow calibrating your speakers for similar sound level as original...
And microphones built inside plastics of consumer camcorders wouldn't have frequency response/sensitivity curves probably looking like cross section of mountain range. (not forgetting gaming speaker sets or gaming headphones)

The new P193 has just arrived at Antec.... and it does not include any PSU
That's very good thing.
Price rising dual PSU system (with bad load distribution) was main reason why I skipped P190 last year when selecting new case.

Performance and long term reliability just aren't necessarily same thing.
IIRC also those Fuhjyyu equipped PSUs performed "electrically" well... until they expired after running out of occasionally very short reliability. Also my last CRT went bad year ago because after six and half years every single electrolyte capacitor (from common brands) was crapping out... while five years older Nokia (aimed to second to Eizos quality) is still doing well.
So excuse me if I don't warm up for capacitor selection which looks almost like collection gotten cheapest for fulfilling some requirement level.

But agree about bigger internal space allowing easier cooling and some extra freedom to component positioning.

well i think i go with the p193 with good cooling, alots of space and near silent (i hope). ill be looking forward to come review soon!

thank Mr rep wo/man

With fingers crossed :)

Well maybe one day they may make a P180 that can fit a quad rad in the bottom. Well i can dream anyway, till then ill guess ill just mod mine to make it more quiet.

P.S thumbs up to the antec rep, antec customer service has gone up in my book :D

P193

apart from the psu chamber is the innside the same as the p190?

Also, in the lower chamber the 120mm fan that sat in the middle, in front of PSU has now been moved right to the front, in front of the hard disks.

You can probably tell from the picture but we have also moved the side panel 200mm Big Boy fan to the outside of the case, leaving plenty of room for huge heatsinks inside.
