Hi All i,m alittle confused about download speeds etc ,at present i,m getting 40 kb/s on a p2p download ,is this wrong or right ? :confused:

is this any good ?? as i,ve seen people on UKFSN isp getting 6+ i have my MAC ready ! :confused:

reason some people get 6,000+ etc is because there closer to the exchange possibly and the line quality is possibly better, if you change ISP its doubtful that you'd see any sort of increase in speeds, as for the P2P speeds, is it bittorrent software that your using to download or ?

i,m using software yes ( not bt torrent another make like a donkey ),and the reason i,d change isp is the fact that nildram are now throttleing and slowing down more ,since the pipex take over .UKFSN don,t seem to be throttleing ,just slowing down to 2mb

Is that 40kb/s or 40KB/s? One is different from the other.

If you mean 40Kb/sec then that's 40 kilobits (kb) a second which means about 5 kilobytes (KB) a second. In other words you're saying that you're getting slower speeds than dialup modem? No, no ADSL service should be slower than dialup.

but remember this is P2P

he can only download at the speed the other user uploads at

which could quite easily be 5k especially if that person has throttled their upload
