Whenever I use P2P on any computer on my network (I use BitComet 0.91 as a client) the internet becomes pretty much unusable throughout the house even if the download speed is something like 10kbps (I cap the upload at 15kbps) Our connection is with Virgin Media and is an 8Mbit speed (apparently) Can anyone explain this and suggest a way to make it stop? Thanks.

Try limiting it to a lot less than 50.. I've found the Netgear routers very inefficient at dealing with too many connections, they just bog down completely.

I tend to use 2 upload and 15 down connections on my torrents, does the job fine and other people on the network can still browse the net and play games.

Limiting your upload speed is likely more important too - means you need to seed longer to contribute but those are the breaks with ADSL.
