Hi. I want to send a file to my friend of about 20MB. It's too big for e-mail and msn keeps failing. Do you know of a clean p2p prog that will alow me to send the file to him at decent speeds? (I have a nicish 0.6Mbps u/l speed).

Cheers. I just didn't want to create a torrent for one file and considering I don't want to share this with anyone but my friend I was also declined to use torrents.

Cheers all.

You could setup your pc as an ftp.

I tried that once and got really confused. Can;t remember how to do it either. Do I have to configure my router at all?

Could you not just upload a file to a filehosting site and after user downloaded your file, you can delete.

Best idea, use a file upload site so whoever is downloading isn't restricted by your upload even though you have 0.6Mb upload bandwidth :)

Yousendit.com
monsterupload.com

there are others but haven't used them.

In the end though its going to take just as long as it would anyway because your bandwidth limits how fast data can be uploaded to the server.

It might be easier to find and fix the problem with MSN, as i stated mine works fine and i sent a 400mb file only last week to a friend. When working MSN is imo the simplest solution.

Glad you sorted it, what did you do in the end?

I burnt to a disc and put it in the post. My PC is messed up, it freezes under heavy network traffic. I'm trying to replace my wireless NIC next week to see if it solves the problem. I hope it does.

install hamachi on both pc's, create a network, then do windows filesharing over that :)

or you could use winrar or 7zip to split the file into say 10x2mb files, then send them over msn/email
