P35 DQ6

Well it's still a damn good board, but I'm not sure if it needs to be watercooled.

I wouldn't bother as P35's tend to run quite cool in my experience.

That said, most aftermarket coolers and waterblocks are quite flexible so may infact be compatible with any board that you later upgrade to.

I use a polarflo chipset block that was compatible with my old 680i, P35 and is presently on my X38. The noctua NC-U6 air cooler i had before was just as flexible and would also have fit on all of the above... including my even older P965 DS3.

Are you experiencing heat related problems at all?

My Q6600 is a really bad OCer so much so that I can't get a stable 2.6GHz and that's with help from this forum. I have given up on the CPU for now as I will replace it with a 9 series as soon as I can. My CPU sits at idle at 50c or so. My room is normally 18c. My case is P182 with five 120's. In order to eliminate any noise because the PC is at the bottom of my bed, I thought about WCing. However the Swiftech kit I chose runs hotter than the TT Extreme. The Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra+ seems like a plan but I wasn't sure with my DQ6. Thanks

Temp question posted yesterday

So you want to watercool the CPU rather than the actual motherboard?

If so then wait til we have a conclusion in your other thread.

Sorry I worded that last post babdly.

When using the Swiftech Compact 120 currently back in its box the mobo was getting way to hot as there were no longer any fans near the NB etc. The CPU was also hotter when WC'd by the compact. If I WC the CPU again with a proper kit I would want to include the mobo.
