I have been with Asus the past few times I've built, and the new range of P35 boards look great. Seems a lot of people in here are going for the Gigabyte boards though.

I want really good performance, needs to overclock, robust with plenty of features. I remember Custom PC giving the new Asus Deluxe really decent reviews lately. But there are so many P35 boards I don't know which one is best for me right now. Guess I'll need to read through reviews really.

Any recommendations?

(Edit: I might want to upgrade to DDR3 in the future. Not definitely but I think it would be nice to have the option)

The Premium apparently has a lot of problems with various (Hitachi, Samsung, WD) HDDs.

The Gigabyte P35-DS3P imo appears to be the sweet spot currently where you get most for least but if you want fewer/more features then as you say there are plenty of boards available.

I went for the DS3R with my Q6600 and 4GB of ballistix 8500. Its a great setup and a hell of a performer..
