I just upgraded to a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R mboard and a Q6600.
I currently have the CPU overclocked to 2.7Ghz (300x9) and my Geil DDR2 running at 750Mhz...all perfectly stable, no problems.
When I enter the BIOS it always shows the FSB options as disabled even though POST and CPU-Z confirm the chip is running at 2.7Ghz. Even if I re-enable FSB in the BIOS and force it to the default of 266Mhz I still get 2.7Ghz at POST. For some reason my settings with regards to overclocking seem stuck at 300x9.
Everything else in the BIOS such as memory timings, voltages can be adjusted with no problems, and retain their settings.
Ideally I would like to get to 333x9 to give me 3Ghz.
Any ideas appreciated.
The board is running BIOS F1.
