P35C-DS3R faulty RAM slots?

This is my second P35C S3R Board and I canoot boot up any ram in the 2x DD2R slots on the right.

2x1GB works fine on the ram slots on the left. I have tried setting the correct vdimm and the timings but still nothing, I keep getting a power loop when I put 1 or 2 sticks of ram on the left DDR2 slots

I have also updated the BIOS to F6-any ideas?

The rest of specs are:

Ballistix PC5300 (have alos tried another PC8500 Ballistix stick)
E2140
Hiper PSU
8800GT

Sounds like the slots are dodgy.
