For those who have the P35k I'd be interested in their thoughts about whether Windows 7 professional or Windows 8.1 would be best, or is it a preference thing? Is it easy to install 7 on this laptop?

Thanks

I started the setup of Win 8, then decided like lots of other Win 8 users that it's best suited to tablets and other handheld devices. Wiped and loaded 7 instead, not looked back.

Microsoft themselves have finally started listening to the moans from users about how un-friendly Win8 is. It is just to big a change for the average user who still misses the windows key.

Thanks. Was it straightforward enough to format and install windows7? Seems as though some have had issues, and I think the smart app thing doesn't work with win7?

Just make sure you download all the drivers etc. first. The only thing I did find was that I had to use Win 8 version of Smart Manager, as the Win7 version is rubbish.

Well I thought I'd try out Win 8.1 for a bit before deciding and haven't had any problems so far. The update from 8 to 8.1 was simple enough and am using Classic Shell for the start menu.

Only issue I have is to get rid of the recovery partition and free up some space on the SSD...

Laptop works great though!
