The extra capacitors apparently give greater stability at higher voltage\clocks, something like that.

The rumour is the 30cap Northwoods are EE cache rejects (faulty L3 cache).

30 Capper 3GHz Northwood here running at 3.7Ghz.

Well, it used to do that 24/7 in my ATX systems but I've sinced downsized to a Shuttle and its running considerably slower than that now!

You'll be lucky to get 3.7Ghz out of that tbh.

3.4 - 3.5Ghz would be a realistic target. Still, thats a 1GHz overclock

mine was at 3.75Ghz for about 7 months, down to 3.7Ghz now, still going strong.

I'd be happy with 3ghz or so, given I'll only be using a regular Akasa copper base cooler...

30 cappers apparently mean your more likely to get a better overclock, and yeah i heard that rumour about the failed gallatin cores.
