Dont know much about intel CPU's these days.

If a cpu is listed as ...

P4 3.6 LGA 775 800 FSB

could anyone shed any light on what core etc it may be,
thanks.

Download CPU-Z and post back on whether it's a 560/560j/660 :) We can go from there.

But yeah, it's a prescott, 2mb lvl2 cache, and they clock very nice.

Edit: You should also be able to choose the 14mutli or the 18 multi within the bios.

I have a 660, runs pretty sweet.

I got a Prescott ( PrescHOT :D ) anyway, My Mobo is an Asus P5GD1 which isnt too god at clocking, and to be honest, I have thrown 2GB ( 4x512MB Samsung PC3200 ) at it, I have got rid of that pile of junk Windows Media Center, and I have given it a not-too-bad X800GTO in order to get it to beat any of my AMDs at, well, anything, but unfortunately, I have failed miserably.

Can you recommend a good clocking Mobo for it?

RAM should not be a problem however as I have plenty of other RAM should I need to go down to 1GB ( Which I may very well do as there is nothing that I need 2GB for and there is no performance difference at all that I see )

any on the 955/975 chipset clock well - I think the Asus is the top of the pile right now - also abit's AW8 is performing well.

Sorry to hear about your motherboard killing the experience !
