hello all,
first post and first foray into OC'ing so please be gentle.
To solve my wife's dilema on what to get me for Chrimbo, she's finally seen sense and said i can spend £300 on pc bits. So i have a £400 budget to build a rig that is NOT for gaming, it is for burning, video and general work stuff word excel some photoshop etc.
My question is, should i go for the cheaper P4D 805 at £70 instead of an E6300 at £130 and spend the difference on bits to cool it down so i can overclock it to give me better performance? But also buy a motherboard that is capable of going with a reasonable CDC in the future when she next's get's fed up of asking me what i want from santa?
Am thinking of following bits as standard
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB)
Case ?
PSU ?
Cooler?
Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers.
