P4 or P8 connection.

Basic question, I've got the Striker Extreme mobo with a E6600. I got both leads with my PSU (P4 & P8) Which one do i have to use, or can i use any? read both manuals and still none the wiser, heh!

The Striker Extreme should have the 8 pin +12V connector on the mobo in which case connect the 8 pin one from your PSU, 4 pin will also work too.

Ah silly me missed, that atm I'm running it on the 4pin and all seems to be working fine, think 'll be allright to keep using that or would it be better to change to the P8? to start with the mobo had the extra 4 blocked off with a cap.

If it works fine then just stay with 4 pins, 8 pins wouldn't hurt but really only needed if you are running quad cores or highly clocked chips.
