I have a P4 3.00GHz, 800FSB prescott core. Wnted to know what a safe over clock speed is, I have a Evo Heatsink on, seems to do its job. What programme can i use to over clock it, there is no option in my BIOS.

Ive had a look around my BIOS and found that iwas able to overclock my FSB. Before i did so i had a look on CPU-Z, this what it showed

Im conserned that my FSB is onliy at 200MHZ.

I changed the BIOS settings and overclocked the FSB to 210MHZ. The FSB then showed 210MHz on CPU-Z and the Bus speed increased to 840MHz. Is this safe and how much more can i overclock safely?

Could anyone recomend me a good programme that measures the CPU and MOBO temps. I have a temp gauge on the front of my case. but i forgot to put the sensors in before i installed Heatsink, i'll put them in soon. Just need a programme for the mean time.

Thanks for that, ive got it now, when i ran it, told me that i had a CPU temp of 91C!!. So i checked on the BIOS and it was only 45C, whats going on there? Case temp was at 25C.

Thanks ive got speed fan works great.

Got 1 more problem now!

My CPU is showing 50C and 55C when running games. Is there anything bar turning heatsink fan up (don't wanna do it cos it makes too much noise)?

Cheers guys!

Cheers Im not gonna mess with anything else, as Im only running it up to 3.20 untill i get a better heatsink. Im playing on COD2 full settings are its temped on 50-60C.

Can you check that for, and some one explain what timings are and what effects will be both good and bad, thanks.

HSF? My guess - Heat Sink Fan?

If thats the case its an £18.00 Evo Heatsink, with a 80MM noisey fan on. Needed some cheap cooling when i ran outta money. Because i got an OEM Processor i didnt get a Heatsink with.

How do i find out what version of BIOS ive got, its a new board only a week old!
