Hi,
Currently ive got a P4 Prescott 3.2 775 cpu which i cant overclock because of my motherboard.

Anyways i was just wondering would i see any difference in gaming if i upgraded to a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 90nm (Socket 939)?

I was thinking about getting the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ but is there any point if i dont multitask?

Thanks
John

Sorry to be a n00b but my ram isnt DDR2 is it anyways? The ram ive got is 4 of these GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5.

And to upgrade to a Asus A8N-VM CSM Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI Express Motherboard (MB-119-AS) and a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM) would be around £260 which is a lot less than the 450 notes that you are saying now?

ahh. right ok, im sorry i forgot there were 775 boards with ddr support. In thatr case a64 would be cheaper then, but there wont be much in it.

regardless i still recommend you just wait. prices will be cheaper, and you can pick from the best. i'd hate for you to buy an AMD system now only for everybody else to move to a cheaper, faster conroe system in 3 months time.

Thanks for that ill take your advice and wait! im in no rush really! tar very muchly!
