p4 vs dual core 1.8

hi again, the cpu i want to get as regards to speed i know the dual cores suppost to be faster just worried as im going from a p4 630 3.0ghz to Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 , could sum1 please reasure me im doing the right thing lol as im on a low budget as it is :mad:

, and dont want to end up going downhill. thanks

Exactement. I know the whole Intel boat will shoot me dead for saying this, but I went from an Intel P4 3.4GHz to an AMD 64 X2 (2.2GHz stock, now at 2.6). It completely slaps my old processor senseless.

Why? AMD64 architecture beats/kills P4/NetBurst easy
