P400A DRGB fans and MSI Mystic Light

This whole RGB thing is new to me and didn't really exist the last time I did a build. Can anyone let me know how well the Phanteks built in controller (and fans) play with an MSI motherboard with Mystic Light addressable headers on it?

Can they work in parallel, so both the case buttons and the software able to take control or do you have to use one or the other?

I can't speak for Phanteks itself but I'm sure from other cases and past experiences that you either let your MoBo control it or let your case control it. You can't change the presets either of the lighting from the case.
