p45 and x48 chip sets

i;m going to build a gamming machine and will be overclocking, and from reviews i see the x48 chipset is slightly better preformer than p45. now i will be getting a q9550 and wondering which would be best for overclocking and gamming:

Unless you're going Crossfire, stick with P45. You really will not notice the difference between P45 and X48 except in some stupid benchmark.

Money down the drain tbh, unless you're aiming for some top overclock. Plus, get a cheaper P45 than that one.

Both are great chipsets and very stable. Really depends on what features you need.

I would recomend this as well. I got it for my Dad, very good board for the price. It has went up in price since i got it.

P45 chipsets run cooler than the X48... and are excellent clockers for the most part equal or better than the X48.. unless your going Xfire wouldnt consider the X48 and even then I dont think there is a huge amount of difference between them

Like the other say, P for performace, X for xfire.
