P45 Mobo and Xeon X3350

Reflux,

Was trying to be as cheap as possible, but can stretsch up a bit.

Ideally wanted Crossfire X support as am thinking of crossing over to the AMD/ATI side when i have seen some more reviews on the new cards.

Was an option i was looking at.

Have never clocked this CPU as board is pap. Imagine it should be good as is the SLACKR version of the 6600

Cob

Currently have an ECS P965T-A.

Please dont shoot me down, as i had to buy it as a desperate measure. When i upgraded from my X2 Athlon, i got the CPU, a Asus P5n32 with it. That lasted a whole 30 mins as what i did not realise at the time was that my waterblock delelopoed a very smally crack running from the bab out. Resultant coolant leak over 8800GTX caused a rather nasty short on main PCIx slot. Board wont POST so had to get board to get new rig up and running and thta was all i could get at short hand.

No reason to shoot you down.

P965 isn't great with quads, even less so with the 1333mhz FSB 45nm ones. So if you're going to overclock then a new board is a neccessity.

Thought so.

May get a cheapish decent board to OC my chip and then do a major upgrade when Intel bring out the shiny new Nehalm stuff later in the year.

Any recommends on this?
