P5B Deluxe dropping Graphics down to 1x

It look slike drunkenmaster has hit on the problem - my P5B deluxe keeps dropping my graphics link down to 1x instead of 16x. It looks like a fairly well known problem with the P5B, however there doesn't seem to be that many solutions that work well... Anybody got any suggestions on how to prevent it from happenning and\or an easy way to reset it when it does it that doesn't involve opening the case up??

EDIT: BTW, my card isn't overclocked any more than it came out of the box.

Latest BIOS stopped it completely for me.

Otherwise needed a full power off and after 30 seconds turn it on and it was ok.

What BIOS is that? I'm on 1216 at the moment.

I also came across the complete power off, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment - have even tried unplugging the PSU from the mainboard... :-/

Can you set the PCIE frequency? If so, try setting it to 101 or 105, i read somewhere that that can solve problems with it reverting to 1x

Yup, have tried setting it to 100, 101, 105 and 110. Nothing.

Well, if anyone comes across this in the future - the solution seems to be a full power off for an extended period. Not sure exactly how long it needed off, but around 2 hours or so. I'll see in the future. Bleh, more than a little annoying, but at least it's back to 16x now...

set it to 101
and keep the NB Voltage at 1.45v or lower.

latest BIOS

avoid 350-400 fsb, go for 401
