Had this motherboard for quite some time now, but appear to be having some problems with a SATA DVD-RW that I installed. I've checked various forums for solutions, but I'm getting a very poor burn.

Downloading the latest motherboard drivers and SATA drivers supposedly fixes the problem, but I have absolutely no idea what exactly it is I should be looking for as I don't know much about motherboards.

Anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers.
 
I should point out that in Nero, it says the drive is connected by IDE, not SATA. I have no idea why, maybe that's the issue.
 
Ant is the optical drive known good and working?

Have you tried a different SATA cable?

I don't think you need to install any drivers for a SATA optical drive, should just be plug'n'go?
