well i have had this board a while now and seem to be getting some good clocks from this board.here are some of my conclusions and findings so it may help others.

p5b-dlx user,if you can post your oc settings for your board,it may help others.

my board under volts vcore by 0.03v.if i set it to 1.5v,i get 1.47v.if i set it to 1.33v i get 1.3v.i dont know if anyone elses does this,it would be interesting to find out from more board users.
i used everest ultimate and cpu-z to check out the voltage drop.both report the same vcore so it seems correct to me.

if i boot to win with the fsb higher than 450,my pci-e switches to x1 mode.i have dicovered on mine that if i set the voltages like below it does not do it.
vcore=1.33v (500fsb i'm at now),obviously this one will be differant with each person.
vmem=2.3v (my mem dont seem to like over 2.3v)
fsb termination voltage=1.3v
nb vcore=1.25v
sb vcore=1.5v
ich chipset voltage=auto

the onboard sound is ****,i dont know if it is the driver or the hardware but it causes slow boots and crackling sound.use a seperate sound card.

there are problems with the jmicron controller if using a ide dvd/hard disc on it.disable it and use a sata dvd/rw and sata hard discs.

sometimes this board does double reboots,i have discovered this seems to be the board changing the strap setting.it dont seem to cause me any problems tho'.

at the moment its doing 3.5ghz(500fsb)at 1.33vcore(1.3v with drop) with mem at 1000mhz 1:1.tested pi 1m(16secs),and orthos for 1/2 an hour.seems fine.temps are 29-32c idle,52-53c running orthos.

i hope this helps others.:D

Was thinking about getting this motherboard. However the following worries me:

I intend to use IDE based (dvd rom and dvd writer) drives. Can you elaborate on the problems you encountered when using IDE optical drives with the jmicron controller?

im using this board with a pioneer dvd-r and pioneer dvd-rw 106 both on same IDE chain. both run without any problems. although i do not attempt to say watch a dvd whilst burning one, call me old fashioned but whenever i burn i never do anything else, im sure it will be the same in 2011 when i have an 80 core cpu !! :D

The P5B-DLX is a cracking board. I run an E6300 at 2.8Ghz (400MHz FSB, 1.25VCore (1.20v with droop). G.SKILL 2GBLA DDR2-667 @ DDR2-800 @ 1.90 VDIMM). System is fully orthos, memtest86+ and memtest for windows stable, along with dual superpi 1m and 32m

si.

Mines great now I've disabled the jMicron controller (slow boots mainly don't know of anythign else.

AND i've got a soundcard, HD/sound conflicts were annoying, again slow windows boot and slow HD activty.

But now with a SATA DVD-RW and a Audigy 4 it flies!

Can't wait till Cat 7.1s and then I can reinstall :D

I leave my pc on 24/7 so slow-booting isnt a problem for me.

With your old soundcard (conflicting with HD), was the hard disk genuinely slow when in windows? This could be a deal breaker for me. Also was the hard disk sata or IDE?

I've got this board and I am getting these IDE problems. Not sure what caused them though but every time I load up windows it cannot detect Primary or Secondary IDE. Weird thing is that they both still work?

Anyways ive got my E6400 to 3.2Ghz so far: Vcore 1.36v, Vdimm 2.0v, OCZ PC6400 @ 800Mhz, CPU 400*8, 1:1

Well, transfer speeds were 90% of what they should be, (74Gb Raptor on SATA btw).

It was mainly going through folders, there was a pause because the HD and sound were accessed at the same time.

Now there are no conflicts at all so everything is smooth and fast :D

dont get me wrong guys,i think this is a great board.mine will do at least 560fsb,theres not many other boards that say over 500fsb and do it.

it has got a few problems tho'.slowbooting, dvd drives dissapearing, slower h.d performance.

all you need to do is use sata dvd drives, and a seperate sound card, and it is no problem.

if you get the right chip in this board,it will do high fsb's reliably.

does anybody know were to get a sink to fit the oher regs at the top of the board?

i love this board.

So hang on, what if I have my own sound card and disable the onboard sound. Then I use 3 SATA drives and 2 IDE optical drives. I dont care about the amount of time it takes to boot up, however, in Windows, will I notice anything amiss?
