Hi all
I have stopped trying to oc this mobo as the position of the clear cmos is in such a stupid place. It is covered by my 8800 gts and is a nightmare to reach.
Is there anyway round this?
If you've got any old motherboard to case front panel cables (either 2 pin or 2 x single pin) then maybe you could attach it to the reset jumper and run the cable to somewhere convenient, cut it, and then either attach a switch to the bare wires so you've got a reset button (if you're being professional!) or just mask off the bare wires with insulation tape so they can't short out, and just remove it and short the wire when you need to reset?
That's what I've done in the past.
ps If you haven't got any suitable wiring, drop me your address and I'll send some out to you - I've got tons of them in my spare parts drawers!!
P5B has the "ASUS crashfree BIOS" so you shouldn't need to use clear CMOS so often. If overclock fails it just resets all BIOS settings to default upon next boot. But on P5B it's a bit different as you need to cut off power completely using the PSU switch then turn it back on in order for it to work.
