Can you ratio the p5b @ 450/500 FSB? The ratio options only seem to offer higher asynch ratio's which is a problem when you've only got DDR800 :P
Am I missing something here somewhere...

965 chipset does 1:1 and you can clock the ram higher then the fsb if you want but not the other way round.

975 lets you 5:4 I think

680i/650i and rd600 let you set them totally seperately

Their might be some cheap brand chipsets that also do that, not sure

Thanks :)

AMEN !

thats what ive painfuly discovered.

this ones gettign sold ! and i promised my girlfriend that i had researched it to the full, and was sure its a keeper, and would want to get rid of it within a week of buying it :O

is this a 965 limitation, or is it 'BIOSable' ?

PC6400 = 400mhz (DDR800)? Overclock it perhaps? And it does have 1:1 ratio.

Its chipset limitation because all the 965 boards have it...

overclock the mem!!!

My memory is topping out @ 460FSB ish (2.1v, about 3.7GHz I think). This chip is an absolute monster.
I told myself I wasn't going to clock it but wow...
