So my brother got a second hand Q6600 & P5E MoBo. We set it up, unclocked it immediately due to standard heatsink being used. Computer has worked fine while isntalling XP, worked fine when installing the drivers etc etc. Come home tonight with a 4 Pin Molex to 6 Pin adapter for the GFX, installed it and now i am receiving OPT1 Temp Overheat Error on boot.

Now when i go into bios it shows OPT1 & OPT3 as Overheating.

anyone got any ideas why this is?

The person you bought it from, did he flash the bios to a rampage formula bios. If so the sensors showing it to be overheating are infact wrong. I had the same issue when I reflashed to rampage to get a better overclock. All you have to do is set it to ignored.

Thanks a lot for the reply(s).

Heres some boot screenshots. Looks like it is running the Rampage Bios. Can i not just disable the warnings and carry on as it is? as we will be putting it back to overclocked when we get a heatsink.
