Looking for words of advice on a problem. Had hope my cherry post might been in a more positive note
Just put together a Q6600 system with a ASUS P5K Delux MB. Got the system booted on standard settings and installed and patched Vista 64. Was very pleased with myself. After reading the forums I decided not to use the windows based ROM utilty and used ASUSTeK EX Flash Bios ROM Utility (V3.05) via a brand new 4GB Corsair USB pen, I had purchased with all the componenet I just got.
Was moving from BIOS version 202 to 501, which I collected of the ASUS site. The utilty started, it check the file was correct succussfully abd then earsed the current BIOS and started to write the new BIOS. The progress bar hung at 15% and didnt move for over 3 hours. Finally I broke and rebooted fearing the worst, with some justifcation it seems.
Now when I boot, it bitches about it BIOS state and then start to check floopies / CD and then USB storage.
When it finds my USB pen it stays "Reading P5KD.ROM" but hangs. I have looked on the pen and can't see a file
Any words of Wisdom would be great.
Anyone got a copy of this file or a another backup ROM for a P5K delux MB?
If I cant pull this back, how do I go about getting a fix (brought from OcUK)?
Gutted as its taken me ages to over come my "fear" and took up the holy hacksaw of doom, removing all the south and north bridge heat sinks and replaced then .. then this happens arrrrrrrrrrrrrr
