Hi Folks
Got a problem with my new system, spec is at the bottom.
I currently have it overclocked to 3.2Ghz and went through the overclocking guide in these forums. I just wanted to work my way up slowly as this was my first attempt, so stuck with the normal suggested settings of FSB at 400Mhz with a multiplier of 8, set Ram back to default at 4,4,4,12 and cpu VID is 1.325v and all testing showed it to be steady with no temp issues. Max temp was 62, 62, 58, 58 during Prime95 and Tuniq and Antec 900 fans were not even on full at the time. (My error)
The problem is that when I go gaming online, (Vanguard at the moment), I get numerous BSOD with Senfilt.sys errors (provider is Sensaura, part of Creative), "Senfilt.sys - address B79AC15D base at B7961000 datestamp 4415a07c" which is a file used in SoundMAX HD audio software for my new Asus P5K-E mb. On one occassion I also got 0x0000007E(0xC0000005 etc etc) which is normally MS driver issues and I have downloaded all latest drivers other than bios at 0602, as this was recommended as best for OC on this board.
Now I know from Google that this is a common issue, but is there a way to prevent this crashing via bios, sound settings, or do I need to get myself a sound card utilising different software from the onboard sound provided by Asus? (i.e. Not with Senfilt.sys) I saw a post on another forum where the guy uninstalled soundmax and windows downloaded a default HD driver, but that was with Vista and I use XP and can find no alternative.
Going back to default settings seems to stop the problem (so far), which defeats the whole point of me trying OCing.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
