Hi all , i got this board on saturday and its running great! I've currently got my e6300 at 3.3ghz. :)

My problem is that i cant seem to enable crossfire on it. I've got an X1900 master card and an X1900XTX and everytime i try to enable it i get a popup message

"CrossFire cannot be enabled because some 3D applications are running, or the interconnect cable is not connected, or the motherboard has no communication channels between PCI-Express slots"

and this is shown in the control center

"Crossfire is currently unavailable. No communication channels can be establshed between the selected CrossFire capable cards. this may be a motherboard issue and may be resolved by choosing other slots for your CrossFire capable cards"

The dongles at the back are connected and were working fine in my other board before...

So has anyone had this problem before? my system specs are as follows:

Intel E6300 @ 3.3
Asus P5k Standard (bios 0603)
2 gigs of Geil ram
ATI X1900 Master card + X1900XTX

any help would be appreciated,
thanks

 Can't help with fixing it but it seems that the P5K has some issues with running crossfire, few chaps on other forums say they're getting a 15fps on BF2142 and thats at 1280x1024

If I were you I'd sell the cards and get a 8800GTS :)

hi there, thanks for the replies. yup i know crossfire only works at 16x/4x on this board but thats fine by me. as long as its close to normal crossfire im happy.

i managed to fix my problem with not enabling crossfire by reverting back to the 7.5 catalyst drivers. ATI must have broke something in their new drivers for it to be like that.

anyways thanks a lot

regards
