I bought a striker from OCUK, which has gone **** up. While its away in hospital i bought a cheap replacement board, the asus p5n-d.
I want my q6600 back to at least 3ghz......but no matter what i do in the bios it wont save either cpu multiplier or any fsb settings. I can change everything else - voltages, onboard devices etc, but not the things that really matter.
I've updated the bios to the latest 801. I've removed the battery and cleared the cmos, then loaded defaults. Tried to lower just the multiplier to 7, and it stays at 9 after rebooting.
Changing any settings under the 'jumperfree' section (fsb, mem clock mode etc etc) makes no difference - after a 'save change and reboot' all are reset back to 'auto'
Any ideas please?
